The Tongariro Crossing

One of the most beautiful treks we've done in New Zealand.
17 km of walking while climbing 800 meters and descending 1100 meteres.
the entire scenery looks alien, as if we're walking on another planet, through volcanic soil and sulphor fumes are coming from the hot ground.

in this frame, while it's hard to see because of the upload resolution, you can see the trekkers going down from the peak in the right side, around the crater and into the valley.

that was indeed a cool day.

Strange scenery indeed ... the red on the rocks is really unusual ... I like the little people in the foreground ... it adds dimension to the image ... take care of your sensor dust ...

Wow! What an incredible capture :) The composition and focus are excellent, as well as the colors. I can't even imagine how awesome it would be to experience that place :)

Beautiful view. Vivid colors and good composition. I think the decision to add the people contributes greatly to the image.
