the Kiwi's were close to getting extinct and thanks to several centers in New Zealand, this remarkable bird is stablizing in quantity.
Heather, the care taker in this bird hospital is holding a baby Kiwi that got lost in the previous storm and almost died of the flood.
The Kiwi is a very unique bird, it as excellent hearing and a large ear, its feathers are soft like fur, its nostrils are located at the end of its beek and whispers helps it sens in the dense of the night, and many more extra ordinary features.
in last August edition of "Masa Acher" nature magazine in Israel, I wrote an article the the amazing efforts of New Zealand to recover its native birds back from almost extinction.
Keep up the good work, Kiwis
It's a shame that so many animals are endangered today.
I really hope that the amount of kiwis will keep increasing and recover!
They are so cool, seem very friendly.
Do they really have whiskers around their beak?
I think I've read it somewhere..
Aw, what a cute creature. I'm not sure if the things on the side of its head are ears or not, but whatever they are, they look very sweet. I'm glad the threat of extinction is diminishing for kiwis.

Aww, poor thing! This is a gorgeous shot of such an adorable bird!
-- If I point the exhaust pipe towards the ground, figured I'll shoot towards the sky. And if the natural laws of physics works like that, I figure, "Why can't I?"
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

..>>ISRAEL<<..
גם אני הייתי בניו זילנד אז ראיתי איזה שתיים,
אבל מוזר שהם ככה באור, בדרך כלל שמים אותם בחדר חשוך.
תמונה יפה
