Hi everyone,

I'm back from Bellisima Roma :)
It is a beautiful city with amazing photographic opportunities
The trip there was a preparation for a photographic expedition we're planning on leading to Rome and practice practical lighting, street photography and churches and architectural photography. We will be there on November.
I will submit some of my favourite images soon.

You are welcome to see the beautiful photography magazine we've published, it's called Composition and right now it's only in Hebrew, but we are planning on launching an English version soon - www.composition.co.il
The writers of the magazine are some of the best photographers from Israel.
If you see some magnificent photos which you think belong in the magazine, please let me know at editor@composition.co.il

Of course, you're welcome to my website - www.galitz.co.il to read Photography Articles and Tutorials,Watch my Galleries and see more information.

Yours Truely,

Roie Galitz
Hello to all my friends

I have returned from a wonderful trip to the west coast of the US and Canada. I wish to thank you all for your wonderful tips before I left
I started off at San Francisco which was foggy on July 4th, went to Muir woods and then south to Los Altos Hills and stayed with a wonderful lady who really likes my photography. from there we traveled south to Monterey for whale watching but escaped east from the fires California suffered. from there we went to Yosemite National park, which was amazingly beautiful :faint:
Lake Tahoe was totally shadowed because of the smoke from the mentioned California fires, so we went to the Grand Teton (Amazing!!) and Yellowstone National Park. Both were absolutely breath taking wildlife and landscapes.
The next stop was Glacier National Park, from there it was Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper. Highly recommended.
And Vancouver and Vancouver Island were nice dessert after this wonderful trip.

I have so much to say and write about each of these places and I wish I could write so much, but time is a luxury.
The Trip was so amazing it's hard to describe. So I'll let the photos do the talking for me ;)
I do apologize for submitting so few so far, since I got home I was so busy with work and university exams, that I didn't see all the photos myself yet, but I hope to do so soon :D

Here are some of the few I submitted so far

Next week on Friday 4th of July, I'll Be off to the US for a trip.

Where? well, that's an excellent question... If you have any tips, I'd love to hear.
I'll start in San Francisco to see the 4th of July Fireworks perhaps near the Golden Gate, any suggestions?
Then around SF for two more days and down south on Route 1 to Monterey and Carmel and from there - Yosemite for 3 days :aww:
After Yosemite, it's lake Tahoe, Grand Teton National park and of course the king - Yellowstone for 4 days :faint:
From Yellowstone we'll cross the border to Canada's Calgary and the Canadian Rockies at Banff and Jasper (5 days)
From there we'll do Vancouver and Vancouver Island and the flight back is from Seattle.

I do hope it will be an excellent trip with lots of photo opportunities. Three and a half weeks of travel and photography.

If you have any suggestions of special places to go or places to sleep, of course I'll appreciate it

After two months in heaven, otherwise know as New Zealand, I'm home.

It was two incredible months in which I tasted most of what New Zealand has to offer.
Went all the way in the south island from Christchurch down to Invercargil, up through Fiordland and the west coast to Nelson and than in the north island through Wellington, Taranaki, Tongariro, Taupo, Napier and the northlands while finishing up in Auckland.
too many stories to start writing about, but I will submit photos to do the work for me ;)

I hope you had a wonderful time while I was away and I'm sorry I can't reply all the wonderful comments you left in the past two months, but know I'm here :)

It's good to be back,

yours truely,

Roie Galitz

I'm in New-Zealand right now, traveling this wonderful country! :)
now I'm in the south island and been in christchuch, kaikoura, arthur's pass and tomorrow we're going to mount cook.

so I'm sorry that I can't respond to all your wonderful messages, but I will be checking in from time to time :)

So have fun everyone, and I will be posting magnificent photos when I'll return or if I find a place where I'll be able to.

So best regards and take care,

Roie Galitz
Hey there friends,

I've been less active lately due to huge pressure in work, but I hope that soon things will relax a little bit. so my apologies to those whom I didn't answer or didn't comment.

I have reached today my 100th deviation on DA with over 1,200 wonderful friends. thank you all very much for your support! and thanks to all the people who bought my prints, I am honored.

Some of you read in the text in Barn Owl , but to those of you who didn't here it is again:

To catch things up, here is the story (in short)

Yael (now my fiance) loves owls and have a beautiful collection of owl related artifacts. while she was searching the web she came across my photos and wrote me how much she loves all my photos and especially the owl photos since she collects them. I replied a usual "thanks for writing..." reply and she answered me and we began chatting.

After a few days of intense e-mailing which we enjoyed writing, I offered her to take her out and photograph real Owls in the wild under the condition she will help me hold the flash for lighting. although it was a bit weird going to the fields at night with someone she just met on the internet, she agreed and was enthusiastic about it.

We met and the chemistry was immediate and intense, plus we saw many Owls such as Barn Owl and Long-eared Owl (I kept my word).

One thing led to another and in less than a month we moved in together and exactly two months after we met we got engaged on the roof of Azriely Towers (one of the highest buildings in Israel).

Now it has been 4 months since we got engaged and six months since the first time we met.

And it's all thanks to my photography and the Owls.
and that's the best thing I gained from photography.

Yael (now you all know her name) finishes medical school in January and gets her MD and after my tests in the beginning of February things will be nicer.

In February we're going to New Zealand on a dream trip :aww:
I can't wait for it to come, I'm always interested in hearing ideas on stuff to do and places to go. I'm sure I'll get back with many many photos.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah and a Happy New Year!
May all your wishes come true and all your dreams fulfilled
Hey dear friends,

After a week in Tanzania I'm home.
Tanzania is a country in Africa, a little south of the equator. it's very reach in wildlife and beautiful landscapes and is almost untouched by modern daily living.
I was in Lake Manyara in the rift valley, Ngorongoro volcano mountain which holds the biggest Kaldera (crater) in the world and in it isolated wildlife such as lions, cheetas, flamingos, hippos and many many more, and also the mighty Serengety with its larger wild animals and even saw the great migration of the Zebras and the wilderbeest.
in one word: Amazing.
My Sigma 120-300 F/2.8 almost didn't leave the camera :)

After getting back, I have a lot of work and studies catching up to do, but I'll do my best be here as much as I can.

I wish to thank all you who bought my prints

And I wish to thank of all the wonderful friends for the support and love :)

One month since I joined DA :)

Sat Oct 1, 2005, 2:56 AM
It's great to be here :)

One month has past since I joined DA after months of recommendations from my dear friend and devine "copyrighter with camera" (photographer) Gilad Benari, and I say thank you.

This community offers a warm home for creators of different kinds and the forms of art I witnessed here, photography and others, are amazing.
I've gained new prespectives and new ideas, thrilled and touched by your comments and thoughts and new appetite for better photography was created.

After a month I'm with 26 online deviations, about 1,000 pageviews and more than 70 friends which I appreciate very much.

So thank you all for your support and love.

PS
I still don't know how to make these cool journals I see everyone has, but I'll work on it ;)
I just joined this wonderful community and I hope to find a place here.
Beginning from scratch isn't easy, so patience is needed.

I hope you enjoy my page and feel free to comment.
